Casino chips have been made from a varied selection of materials in an almost infinite variety of variations since the advent of betting and the need to keep track of winnings. The most familiar components used at present in the manufacture of cutting-edge poker chips are plastic, clay composite, and acrylics. Clay chips, the primary of the group, have been made in the US since the late 19th century.
Back in the 19th century, poker players seemed to use any tiny object with value you can imagine. Early poker enthusiasts occasionally employed jagged gold pieces as well as chips – normally made of wood and clay. By the 20th century, poker chip designs started to enjoy a bigger prominence, and the smooth edges of older chips gave way to chips with engraved slits to hold them neatly arranged with each other.
There is little debate that poker has gotten bigger steadily in universal appeal ever since its beginnings in the 1800s. With the huge growth of net gambling and unique television shows, community interest in poker has feed the fire faster than ever before. Most people are first introduced to poker by TV showssuch as Bravo’s "Celebrity Poker Showdown" or "Poker After Dark," and most will participate in their initial hands on the net. Despite internet poker’s growth, not much competes with the feeling of shuffling weighty clay poker chips in your hand, throwing chips into the middle of a casino table, or creating tall pilesstacks of chips after showing a winning hand.
