Let us learn some different types of poker other than texas hold’em, 5 card stud, five card draw and Omaha. Yes, pai gow poker. Now you might be wondering that pai gow sounds a bit Chinese; yes you’re right, this card game is a mixture of the Chinese game pai gow and poker Certainly this isn’t one of the highly popular varieties of poker but still commonly played. It can be enjoyed by up to seven players. It is played with one deck of 52 cards, including a joker. Interestingly, joker can be used only as an ace, or to complete a straight, flush, a straight flush, or royal flush. The essential thing here to bear in mind is apart from the usual ranking of hands we have an additional winning hand which is "Five Aces" (5 aces including the joker). Surprisingly, 5 aces defeats every other hand including royal flush. Each gambler is dealt 7 cards. These cards are aligned to make two hands; a 2 card hand and a five card hand. The five card hand must be better or be equal to the 2 card hand. After arranging the two hands, the cards are placed on the poker table face down. Once down, you cannot switch them. The dealer will turn over their cards and make their hands. Each competitors hand is compared to the dealer’s hands. If the player wins 1 hand and loses the other, this is called a "push" and absolutely no cash is exchanged. If croupier wins both hands then the bettor gives up their wager the opposite is true if the player wins both hands. Now if there is a tie, the croupier wins all. Once the hand is played, the very next person clock-wise becomes the dealer and the next hand is given out.
