Caribbean Poker Codes and Hints
May 22nd, 2021 by Noelle

Poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you have to either make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes immediately to the house. After the wager is the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including an amount on par with the original bet. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The bank pony’s up chips even with your bet and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
